What are System Interrupts and the cause of System Interrupts high CPU usage?
Table of Contents
System Interrupts are the main concepts of the Operating System that send signals or alarm to the CPU (Central Processing Unit) that generated from a Hardware or can signal generated from the software.
During the execution any hardware and programs. If found any problems such as hardware then system interrupts send the signals to CPU for System Interrupts high CPU usage. Same conditions in software execution programs and send notifications to CPU for system interrupts.
Typically, System interrupts should be 0.1% to 2% but sometimes it goes up to 7% that also considered as normal system interrupts. If system interrupts consumes more than 10% it will be indicate to CPU for hardware or software failure of execution.
There are three type of System interrupts-
- Hardware interrupts- Hardware interrupts raised by hardware devices and synchronous may occur any time.
- Software Interrupts– Software interrupts is also called traps and raised by software programs, to invoke Operating system functionality.
- Exceptions interrupts– Exceptions interrupts is generate automatically by processor itself result as illegal instruction for fault and aborts.
The main reason for System Interrupts High CPU usage because it may be a problem such as hardware driver problem, the issue in network adapter, Audio enhancement problem, the USB root problem, any failing of hardware, Windows fast startup, BIOS problem, etc.
Now we are going to discuss all the steps via which we can handle of system interrupts high CPU usage in Windows 7, 8, 10.
