chkdsk [drive:][[path] filename] [/f] [/v] [/r] [/I[:size]] [/x]

/rLocates bad sectors and recovers readable information. The disk must be locked.
/I[:size]NTFS Only. Changes the log file size to the size you enter. Display the Current size if you don’t enter a new one.
/xNTFS only. Force the volume to dismount first, if necessary. This switch also includes the functionality of the /f switch.
/iNTFS Only. Performs a less vigorous check of index entries, reducing the amount of time needed to run chkdsk.
/cNTFS Only. skips the checking of cycles within the folder structure, reducing the amount of time needed to run chkdsk.

STEP#1. Navigate to Start, Search for this PC & click on it.

STEP#2. Right-click the drive to perform a check disk and then, select Properties.
